Coffee-pot and lid, of porcelain, one of a pair, painted in overglaze polychrome enamels. The coffee-pot is supported by a female lion with a smaller lion at its feet, the lion having moveable ears. On each side is a panel painted with a mythical beast (qilin). The body of the coffee-pot is six-sided and decorated with panels and floral sprays on a black ground. The spout springs from a monster's head and the lid has a knob in the form of a lion. The whole rests on a pedestal moulded in the form of a table covered with a cloth.
