Physical description

Coffee cup of porcelain, and transfer-printed in black enamel with L'Amour, representing a gallant on a garden seat beside a lady, whose hand he leans forward to kiss, and another lady stands behind, and in the foreground are a spaniel and a garden roller, and in the background is a fountain with the statue of Neptune in his chariot.

Part of a portion of a service with sugar basin and cover 414:623/1, 2-1885 (Sch. I 649:1, 2), milk jug 414:623/A-1885 (Sch. I 649A), cake plate 414:623/B-1885 (Sch. I 649B), spoon tray 414:623/C-1885 (Sch. I 649C), two tea cups and saucers 414:623/D to G-1885 (Sch. I 649D to G), and two coffee cups 414:623/H and 414:623/I-1885 (Sch. I 649H and Sch. I 649I)
This service was assembled by Lady Charlotte Schreiber from pieces she purchased from the Reverend J.C. Jackson, Hackney, for £1 in April 1869, from Davis, London, for £3 15 shillings in 1870, and from Bradbeer, Lowestoft, for £1 16 shillings 6 pence in 1869
