This gilded and painted oak statuette is of a kneeling pilgrim with a wallet at his gridle, and his hat, ornamented with a cockle shell slung over his shoulders. The arabesque pattern on the robe has been created by scratching off the paint to reveal the gold. Along the border of the robe is an inscription of which only the word 'ORA' is now legible.
