Jug of soft-paste porcelain painted with enamels and moulded in relief. With a pear-shaped body, contracted neck, expanding mouth with a projecting lip, scrolled loop handle, and three small scrolled feet springing from cabbage-leaves moulded in relief on the body. The body and neck are divided by grooves into six lobes, and on either side of the body is a landscape in a shaped panel bordered by relief scrollwork coloured purple. Below the lip is painted a rose, and on the neck are small insects, and round the rim is a border of leafy scrolls in purple.

Jug of soft-paste porcelain painted with enamels and moulded in relief. This moulded shape is extremely rare. For a commentary on European decoration on early Worcester see Simon Spero below: '.....purely European themes played little part in the early output and examples are scarce.'
