This chimneypiece / fireplace was removed from a house called Market Garden, Baker Street in Enfield, Middlesex, which supposedly has formed part of the lodge of a mansion, now destroyed.
The upper part of the jambs and lower edge of the architrave have deep mouldings, with a square rosette beneath on each side. The frieze has a grotesque mask in a scrolled cartouche in the centre, flanked by symmetrical devices of vases with pea-pods and cherries, birds, apes, fruit and scrolls.
