This medal commemorates the death of George IV, on June 26th, 1830.

The medal shows on one side the head of the King, on the other side Britannia mourning at the foot of an urn, with her shield and helmet.

Britannia was the Latin name used by the Romans to describe the island of Great Britain and was personified as a goddess.
