Object history
Given by Dr Alastair Rowan.

Provenance: The drawing room of Auchmacoy House, near Ellon, Aberdeenshire.
The house, which is in the Tudor style, was designed by William Burn (1789-1870) in the early 1830s, and the paper was apparently an original one.

A sample of this pattern, entitled 'Oval and Pink Stripes', in another colourway, is in the pattern book for 1847 probably produced by the firm later known as Jeffrey & Co. (see E.431, 432, 432A-1943).
Production
