Ding ware. Bowl with copper alloy rim, white porcelain with moulded decoration of peony scrolls, China, Song dynasty (960-1279)
Physical description
Bowl, conical form with wide mouth and small base. White porcelain with ivory-white glaze, "tear-stains" on the exterior. Moulded ornament inside in low relief, namely, a rosette with spiral petals in the centre and a broad band of peony scrolls on the side, with a border of key-fret. The base is glazed, the lip is unglazed and bound with a copper alloy band.
