Bequeathed by Mr. George Salting, accessioned in 1910. This acquisition information reflects that found in the Asia Department registers, as part of a 2022 provenance research project.
Manuscript note on bottom of bowl: "Mr. Fortune says these are particularly fine and very rare china." i.e. presumably Robert Fortune, author of "A Residence among the Chinese". (1857).
