By use of alliteration the copy and the illustrations in this wood engraving, one of two at E.671-1994 and E.672-1994, gave an impression of the range of work promoted by the Zinc Development Corporation. John O'Connor (born 1942) belongs to a small group of wood engravers who took up the technique after its heyday in the 1920s and 1930s. He was a student of Eric Ravilious at the RCA between 1934 and 1937 and also worked for a short while for the Curwen Press.
