This is a bronze medal made in England and signed "T. Wyon, Jun. MDCCCXI." The obverse of this medal represents figures representing Peace and War; "Treaty of Peace signed at Paris, May 30th 1814." The reverse shows the shields of the Allies and France encircled with branches of palm and laurels and arranged around the sentence "This is the work of Jehovah; it is marvellous in our eyes."

Historical context note

The medal commemorates the conclusion of the Napoleonic Wars in 1814. The Treaty of Paris was followed by the Congress of Vienna which was interrupted by the resurgence of Bonaparte and the Hundred Days culminating in the Battle of Waterloo.
