This cast bronze medal depicts St Stephen I. On the reverse side there is an image of the Vernicle, a cloth which was used by St Veronica to wipe the face of Jesus on his way to the crucifixion and on which his features were impressed.

St Stephen served as Pope between 254 and 257.
