This is a bronze medal made in England around 1798, and signed "Wyon." The obverse of this medal represents an eye with rays looking down upon the British Shield and an anchor, and the motto "Sub hoc signo vinces." Across the shield is the label "Laus Deo. Nov. 29, 1798" The reverse shows a winged female seated at the foot of a pyramid holding a medallion of Lord Nelson in one hand and a cross in the other. Near her are the British Lion and the Irish Harp. There is the legend inscribed "Virtute nihil obstat et armis," and the exergue is inscribed "Victory of the Nile. Augt. 1, 1798."
