Bionicle is a line of construction toys created by Lego which was launched in 2000 and marketed to 6 to 16 year olds. They are posable toys that each have a character, good or evil, which forms part of a science fantasy story. Bionicle was the first Lego product to have an in-house story developed for it, in fact the story has been engineered so that it will last for some years into the future. The first full length animated film was released in 2003. One of their popular slogans is 'tools not weapons'.

Lego, complete Bionicle figure, 'Lerahk', made by LEGO, manufactured in Switzerland, 2003.
Physical description
A boxed bionicle, which has been completed. The figure is in grey and green plastic, it has pivot joints at its hips, shoulders and waist. It has a black and grey plastic weapon in its hands. The figure has a green head with orange plastic underneath and grey spines on its back. It comes packaged in a plastic tub, with a green lid and a paper instruction booklet inside.
