This white marble shield of arms is carved in low relief with a border of scrolls and palmettes. In the relief there are to rapiers and in the base the letters F.B.

The panel comes from the Cavendish Bentinck collection which was largely acquired in Venice. Istrian stone was commonly used in Venice as the Istrian peninsular (now in Croatia) was then part of the Venetian empire and the stone was imported across the Adriatic Sea.
