This carved stone is the lintel of a chimney piece. It is carved with a shield of arms, depicting a lion rampant on a mount and a monster on either side from the tail of which issues floral scrollwork. The underside beneath this is carved with leaf work and a panel in the centre containing a representation of Vulcan forging arrows on an anvil. The cornice is decorated with acanthus leaf and dart ornament. The jambs of the chimney pice are surmounted by capitals, carved with symmetrically arranged arabesques with birds at the top.

Physical description
Chimney piece. Istrian stone; on the frieze of the lintel in the centre is carved a sheild of arms, a lion rampant on a mount; on either side is a monster, from whose tail issues floral scroll-work. The soffit beneath has leaf work with a panel in the centre containing a representation of Vulcan forging arrows on an anvil; the cornice is decorated with acanthus leaf and dart ornament. The jambs of pilaster form, surmounted by capitals, are carved with symmetricually arranged arabesques, with birds at the top.
