This design of this wallpaper is based on a damask pattern. It was found at No. 5, The Grove, Highgate, London. Another slightly cruder version of this pattern also survives in the V&A collection; this came from a house in Epsom, Surrey, a town in which many early wallpapers have been found in situ.
