Dish of buff earthenware with decoration in light and dark brown and white slips under a yellow glaze. Circular. Decorated on a white slip ground in the middle with a crowned standing figure inscribed on either side of the head "GR" (for George I) within a border of loops. all in dark and light brown slip with white dots; on the rim masks in dark brown and white alternating with formal rosettes in light and dark brown and white and at the bottom the words "Ralph Simpson" in dark brown.
The representation of George I in the centre of the dish shows him with crown and full regal costume.
