This furnishing textile, following the contemporary fashion for framing scenes within medallions against a diapered ground, celebrates the architectural glories of Paris: the Pont Neuf and the colonnade of the Louvre in rectangular frames, the Pantheon in an octagonal frame and the Fountain of the Innocents in a circular frame. This design was printed in four colourways: red, purple, red and yellow, and purple and yellow. The yellow would have been added using wooden blocks.
