Place of origin |
Pendant, silver, silver gilt, with hoops at either end with corded rings. The figures of four standing saints are placed around a central pillar beneath an imbricated canopy. Modelled in the round, they are applied to the pillar which contains a screw enabling the group to the turned round as the viewer wishes, and then fixed in the chosen position. The faces and hands are not gilded. The figures have been identified as: St. Anne, represented as Anna Selbdritt holding the Child on her right hand, the Virgin on her left hand. St. James the Greater holds a scallop shell and a pilgrim staff. St. Barbara holds a sword and a chalice, and the fourth saint has been tentatively identified as St. Leonard.
