'The Capture of Joan of Arc' figure, standard and stand, glazed earthenware with a wooden base, designed and made by Stanley Thorogood, England, 1919.
Physical description
A handbuilt earthenware figure of Joan of Arc, bearing the standard of the French crown, astride a horse rearing over two fallen soldiers and fighting off two soldiers. Decorated with coloured lead glaze. The horse is dapple grey and St. Joan and the soldiers wear colourful costumes and armour. On a wooden base.

Stanley Thorogood (1873-1953) R.A. was Superintendent of Art Instruction, Stoke-on-Trent 1913-19; from 1920 he was Director of Camberwell Art School.
