This is silver medal made in the 19th century, in England. The obverse of this medal represents a garter, inscribed "Virtute et Industria," surrounding a view of a fortifued port; around the garter "Royal Bristol Volunteers;" below it, "In danger ready." The reverse is inscribed "Imbodied for the maintenance of public order and protection of their fellow-citizens on the threat of invasion by France, 1797. Revived on the renewal of hostilities 1803. Disbanded when the deliverance of Europe was accomplished by the perseverance and magnanimity of Great Britain and her Allies, 1814" Motto below, "Propatria."
