This is a gilt emectrotype medal made in the 19th century. This medal was copied from the English original signed "Hancock." The obverse of this medal represents the profile head of King George III., and the legend "The King defended, the Constitution preserv'd. M. and S. V. embodied 1798." The reverse is inscribed "Presented by the Officers of the Grenadier Company, 2d Battalion, Manchester and Salford Volunteers, for uniform good conduct. 1802."
