This medal was issued on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary for the Society of Fine Arts in Milan. It depicts on one side a winged genius in flight holding a spray of laurel in his left hand and on the other side it shows a shield of arms, which is charged with the cross of the arms of Milan.

CAPPVCIO INC. Rev.: a shield of arms sighed JOHNSON. and LA SOCIETÀ PER LE BELLE ARTI MILANO NEL SVO CINQVANT ANNIVERSARIO.MDCCCLXXXXIII. The shield is charged with the cross of the arms of Milan cantonned by two and charged with one mullet of five points, with wreath and sprays of laurel surmounted by a mural crown; the whole between S and BA. |
