Physical description
Lithograph in brown reproducing an original end-paper design made in the 1920s or 1930s by Eric Ravilious. The pattern comprises horizontal repeating red bands with a repeating pattern of back to back looped rope shapes and small stars and bars.

Acquired in connection with the display A Fine Line - Commercial Wood Engraving in Britain, V&A, 10 October 1994 - 26 March 1995. [Draft label for A Fine Line exhibition?] These sheets were part of a group published in the 1980s by the Judd Street Gallery from designs of the 1920s and '30s, which were originally published by Harold Curwen. Examples of the original Curwen Press papers are also represented in the collection; see the Catalogue of Decorative Papers; Enid Marx, Edward Bawden, Eric Ravilious.
