This decorative paper is part of a group (see E.181-1998 to E.187-1998 and E.195-1998 and E.196-1998) published in the 1980s by the Judd Street Gallery from designs of the 1920s and '30s. The designs were originally published by the Curwen Press. Examples of the original Curwen Press papers by Enid Marx, Edward Bawden and Eric Ravilious are also represented in the collection.

Pattern paper printed in turquise on a large sheet reproducing designs of the 1920s, designed by Enid Marx and published by the Judd Street Gallery. Pattern of repeating geometric four pointed star shapes.

Object history note

Acquired in connection with the display A Fine Line - Commercial Wood Engraving in Britain, V&A, 10 October 1994 - 26 March 1995. [Draft label for A Fine Line exhibition?] These sheets were part of a group published in the 1980s by the Judd Street Gallery from designs of the 1920s and '30s, which were originally published by Harold Curwen. Examples of the original Curwen Press papers are also represented in the collection; see the Catalogue of Decorative Papers; Enid Marx, Edward Bawden, Eric Ravilious.
