Physical description
Wood-engraving, one of a series of four, featuring London parks and gardens, by John O'Connor. This image features a lake surrounded by plants and trees, and a villa with cupola and pedimented facade in the background centre, below a clouded sky. There is a boat house set in trees to the right with two small rowing boats moored. The foreground is framed by flowers, and large leafed foliage frames the left side. The wood-engraving is characterised by patterns of lines, cross-hatches and dots, with zig-zags forming the ripples of the water.
