Medal (Prize medal for the Slade School of Art)

This bronze medal of 1888 depicts a winged and draped female figure, holding a laurel wreath , and is an example of the prize medal presented by the Slade School of Art, University College London.

Lilian Vereker Hamilton was born Lilian Swainson in 1865. She studied at the Slade School of Arts and was the wife of the painter Vereker M. Hamilton.
