This relief is made in the style of Desiderio Settignano, in Florence in the first half of the fifteenth century.
The relief is recessed within a moulded border and shows on the left St. John in half-length in profile to the right. He wears a skin, and his hands are clasped in prayer. His halo runs diagonally across the upper left corner of the relief. On the right is the Child Christ, also in half length, turned to the left with head in three-quarter face. He has a cruciform halo, and wears a robe and cloak.
