Inscribed with title. Inscribed in another hand, Nié bakarsen janem Captan!!! (This sheet, and several others in this album, are inscribed in a later hand with additional captions in transliterated colloquial Turkish. Judging by the spelling and content, they were written by a French-speaking adolescent.)

See an anonymous album in the VAM, DPD, 9284A.1-70, [in this case p.143] which may contain drawings by the same artists as in SD.176:1-54, many images being the same or very close. The titles in the VAM's album are in French and in Turkish (in Arabic script). See also an album by Lt. Col. Charles Hamilton Smith, VAM, DPD, D.375-1890 (93.B.10), which contains versions or copies of some figures. See also SD.356.
