This corbel or capita is decorated with acanthus leaves and foliate scrolls. Ornamented architectural terracottas are found in several places in North Italy, such as the church of Spirito Santo, Bologna and S. Francesco, Ferrara.

Physical description

Corbel, terracotta, decorated with a central floral and baluster stem; on either side springs a scroll supported by an acanthus leaf.
