This is a silvered electrotype medal made in the 19th century, in England. This medal was copied from the 18th century original signed "M. S." and given by the Scottish African Company to Captain Alexander Campbell for a victory over the Spaniards at Touboucan. The obverse of this medal represents a warrior with the capture of a fort in the background, and the inscriptions "Quid non pro patria," "Toubocanti ubi 1600 Hispan. fudit dux Alexander Campbell. MDCC. 8 Febr." The reverse shows the arms and mottoes of the Scottish African Company.
