This sensitively carved crucifix, particularly the anguished face of Christ, is typical of the work of the Granada sculptor José de Mora. Although the crucifix is of wood, the loincloth is fabric soaked in glue (tela encolada), while the crown of thorns is made from real hawthorns. Such techniques are typical of Spanish sculpture at this date.

The very sensitively carved crucifix is of wood, the white loincloth is fabric soaked in glue (tela encolada) and the crown of thorns is made from real hawthorns.
Christ is nailed to the cross, the head upturned with open eyes and mouth.
