This bronze medal depicts the celebrated British Admiral, Lord Nelson. On the reverse side there is a winged figure of Fame with thunderbolts in her hand. It was struck to commemorate his death during the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805.

Medal, bronze. Bust portrait of Lord Nelson with the inscription 'Hor. Vicecom. Nelson. ob. patriam. pugnando. mort. Oct. XXI. MDCCCV; rev., the winged figure of Fame with thunderbolts in her hand and the legend 'Ipse belli fulmen'. Signed 'W'. In a black wood frame.
