Letter rack. Softwood painted green with polychrome gesso decoration. The plain base with daises. The top section formed as an elongated box, the top out off at an angle, higher at the back, curved at the front. The front with a figure labelled below propserine, with a monograme, AH, above. On one side a figure labelled above FLORA, on the other a similar labelled POMONA, on the back three figures and a dragon labelled below MESPERIDES, with a monogram AH, above. The inside of the opening with a trail of flowers.

This letter rack is said to have been painted by Kate Greenaway for Sir Hugh Anderson (1865-1928), whose daughter Maisie married Sir Trenchard Cox, the donor.
