St. John the Evangelist

Statuette
first quarter 16th century (made)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

This statuette has been related to Benedetto da Majano, Jacopo Sansovino, Giovanni Francesco Rustici and moste recently to Andrea Ferrucci. None of these suggestions is satisfactory, but it seems likely that the figure is the work of a minor Florentine sculptor working in the first quarter of the 16th century.
