Carpet fragment of woven wool.

WARP: white wool; Z2S; 18 threads per inch (72 per dm).

WEFT: dark brown and grey wool used separately; Z spun, unplied; 2 parallel threads per shoot; 2 shoots after each row of knots; 9 knots per inch (33 per dm).

PILE: wool; 6 colours: red, yellow, dark green, dark blue, dark brown, white; asymmetrical knot open to the left and tied around two threads; 81 knots per sq. inch (1188 per sq. dm).

SIDE FINISH: Left: one cord oversewn. Right: cut.

END FINISH: cut.

DESIGN: field: brown ground with band of octagonal guls containing a stepped and hooked cross with eight-pointed stars in between.

Main border: red ground with blue hooked triangles and hooked meander.

Outer border: white zigzag.
