In 1954, German manufacturer Braun invited the HfG to take charge of its design programme. Gugelot worked with a company team headed by architect Dieter Rams. The SK4 radiogram, known as 'Snow White's Coffin' because of its clear plastic lid, epitomised the severe, minimalist aesthetic which became the hallmark of Braun. The SK55, a later model, incorporated some design changes made by Rams in the early 1960s.
