Physical description
Chest of drawers, English, early 18th century.

Walnut with brass lock plates and handles. Folding table top, the folder supported when open by a pair of slides flanking the top drawer. Four long drawers (parts 2-5). Square bracket feet.

Note on departmental register, 28th June 1982: 'strip of veneer missing'.

According to Mr Facey, restorer, 6/11/1980, 'top is early 20th-century oak veneer replacement.'

describes the Bachelors chest (W.17) as "of a type not represented in the collections".
