WARP: cream wool; Z2S; 21 threads per inch (83 per dm).

WEFT: brown wool; Z spun, unplied; 2 shoots after every row of knots; 24 knots per inch (96 per dm).

PILE: wool and silk; 7 colours: dark red, red, green, dark blue, pink (silk), brown, cream , asymmetrical knot open to the right and tied around 2 threads, although there are areas of jufti knotting; 252 knots per sq. inch (3984 per sq. dm).

SIDE FINISH: 2 cords overcast with red wool.

END FINISH: Lower: 1.5 cms. of plain weave with cream weft remains with a row of multi-coloured jufti knots which would have formed a fringe. Upper: 5 cms. plain weave remains, with red weft and then cream weft; turned under and stitched in place.

DESIGN: field: dark red ground with three vertical rows of three guls and two vertical rows of two complete stars.

Main border: horned rectangles containing two colour rosettes.

Lower band: undecorated red pile.

Upper band: band of red pile divided horizontally by two narrow bands of green and red knots.
