This brass medal was produced to commemorate the opening of the new Houses of Parliament in 1847. On the obverse face Queen Victoria is shown in profile while on the reverse side the 'New Houses of Parliament' are shown from the river.

Physical description

Medal, brass. Commemorating the opening of the new Houses of Parliament. Obv., head of 'Victoria regina. 1846.' Rev., the river frontage of the Houses and the words, 'New Houses of Parliament.' In the exergue, 'Opened Nov. 1847', and 'H. Hyams, London.'
