WARP: cream wool; Z2S; 24 threads per inch (97 per dm)

WEFT: brown wool; Z spun, unplied; 2 shoots after every row of knots; 26 knots per inch (104 per dm).

PILE: wool and silk; 8 colours: red, yellow, green, blue, dark purple, light purple (silk), brown, white; asymmetrical knot open to the right and tied around 2 threads; 312 knots per sq. inch (5044 per sq. dm).

SIDE FINISH: 2 cords overcast with red wool.

END FINISH: Lower 2 cms. plain weave with cream weft, part of which is turned under and stitched in place. Upper 2.5 cms. plain weave, band of green weft followed by red and then cream, part of which is turned under and stitched into place.

DESIGN: field: three vertical rows, each with three rectangles, each containing a gul.

Main border: red ground with diamonds and angular forms.

Outer border and apron: floral sprigs. The apron has three rows of them.

Note: the top right-hand border has brown wool at the back and vestige of similar on left-hand side.
