WARP: cream wool; Z2S; 20 threads per inch (83 per dm).

WEFT: grey wool; Z spun, unplied; 2 parallel threads per shoot; 2 shoots after every row of knots, 19 knots per inch (69 per dm).

PILE: wool and cotton; 8 colours: red, light red, yellow, green, blue, light blue, dark brown, white (wool) and small amounts of white cotton; asymmetrical knot open to the right and tied around 2 threads. 190 knots per sq. inch (2863 per sq. dm).

SIDE FINISH: Left: incomplete but evidence of one cord oversewn with green wool. Right: missing.

END FINISH: Lower: plain weave with grey woollen weft; turned and stitched in place with evidence of light blue and light red oversewing in a chevron pattern. Upper: plain weave with red woollen weft and then cream weft with evidence of chevron oversewing in light blue and light red.

DESIGN: field: decorated by 15 bands - narrow bands of multi-coloured chevrons alternating with wider bands of four-sided forms outlined in white and separated by narrow diagonal bands of coloured blocks.

Borders: right-hand side only narrow inner border of coloured blocks remains. Top and bottom: geometric meander on light red ground. Left-hand side: (patched) has red ground with white guls containing red crosses. Inner and outer borders: red ground with green diamond pattern with central white dot.
