Fan of silk painted in gouache and decorated with spangles, applied motifs in mother of pearl, straw work and feathers. The sticks are of carved and pierced mother of pearl enriched with silver and silver gilt. The central scene depicts the garlanding of Cupid's altar and is flanked with oval vignettes depicting courting couples.
