This is a bronze medal made by W. Wyon in England in 1859. The obverse of this medal represents a diademed head of Queen Victoria and the reverse shows a crowned Irish harp dividing two shamrocks. The college was founded in Dublin early in 1867 but no details have been found concerning the issue of this piece.
Wyon is the name of a talented family of Designers, Die-engravers and medallists whose period of activity extended from before the middle of the 18th century to almost the end of the 19th century.
