Brief description

Physical description
This bowl is on a high splayed foot with traces of kiln gloss over much of the surface. The decoration is complex; on the bowl there are three double rows of stamped circles beneath a row of larger triangles which themselves lie above a row of circles linked by small circles. The whole body is divided into sections by four relief flanges. The stem too is covered with stamped triangles, ridges and a chain of circles. In spite of this dense decorative scheme, the overall effect is almost restful, reflecting the potter's devotion to the Buddhist faith.
