Plate of soft-paste porcelain. The middle is painted with a group of three children and sheep taking shelter beneath a tree in a thunderstorm. The painting is surrounded by a band of small flowers on a continuous gilt scrolled stem. The rim has a wavy edge and is decorated with oval medallions and foliage on a dark blue ground.

Decoration previously attributed to Richard Askew, who, however, did not work at Derby until 1794.
