Object history
This armchair was part of the Handley-Read collection formed by Charles and Lavinia Handley-Read and exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1972. It was made by Holland & Sons, one of the largest firms of Victorian cabinet-makers, whose Day Books are in the Archive of Art and Design
