Alfred Lyttleton, P.C., K.C., M.P., together with detailed studies (some in colour) of a peacock, used in the design for her memorial tablet in the church of St. Andrew, Mells, Somerset. 146 pages of metallic surfaced paper, full-bound in black leather, blind tooled, with metal clasp, a pencil holder and pocket inside the front cover. Sketchbook is full leather case binding, landscape format with fore-edge clasp. Book block sewn on one tape. Decorative endpapers, pocket on inside of front board, pencil holder at head. Gilt edges

Object history | The original design for 'The Star of Bethlehem' tapestry and photographic enlargements used as cartoons for the stained glass panels in Birmingham Cathedral, 'The Nativity' and 'The Crucifixion' are E.5012-1919 and E.224 and 224-1911. A coloured replica of the uncoloured memorial tablet, in painted plaster on wood is P.85-1938. |
