Woman's waistcoat of fine bleached cotton, lined and backed with bleached linen. It has no collar, wide revers, straight fronts reaching to above the natural waist. It is couched with flat and coiled silver strip in a pattern of parallel lines and small, abstract floral motifs. The waistcoat has a double-breasted effect with 4 embroidered buttons on the right front, and on the left front, 4 worked buttonholes with a button to the left of each. The centre-back is open with 12 worked lacing holes on each side.
